TVA Reduces Wholesale Power Rate to Distributors

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) announced today a 7 percent reduction in the wholesale rate that TVA charges distributors for the power they purchase.

This will be about a half cent reduction in the rate that customers are charged for the power they use.

A residential customer who uses 1,000 kilo-watt hours in a month will see about a $5 reduction in their monthly bill.

Huntsville Utilities will receive information about their new retail rates early next week.

Huntsville Utilities is one of 158 distributors of TVA power. HU serves over 158,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in Huntsville, Madison County and northern Marshall County.
