PAY BY BANK DRAFT

The Bank Draft Program at Huntsville Utilities offers two convenient options for you to choose from: (There is no charge to use this service.)

Option 1 - Automatic Monthly
Option 2 - Web/Phone Draft via Website or Automated Telephone

Automatic Monthly
The amount due is drafted from your bank account each month and electronically presented to our financial institution one business day prior to your due date. When payment is due on a weekend or holiday, it will be sent to our financial institution the prior business day. This convenient payment option insures you will never pay a late penalty as a result of forgetting to pay or being out of town and will not have the hassle of writing and mailing payments. You will continue to receive a monthly utility bill, however, the bill will note "PAID BY BANK DRAFT".

Web/Phone Draft
The customer may initiate a draft at their discretion online via our website www.hsvutil.org or by automated telephone at 532-8222. This option requires that you have your Utilities Account Number and PIN number.

HOW DO I ENROLL?
You may enroll in the Bank Draft Program by phone, mail or fax.
· Enroll by phone - Call a customer service representative at 535-1255 (Monday – Friday (7am- 7pm) (Please allow up to 2 business days to process your request)
· Enroll by mail/fax - Complete the bank draft form (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader), and mail or fax as instructed. (Please allow up to 2 business days to process your request)

*One time emergency - If your account becomes due before the enrollment process has been completed, a one time electronic draft can be requested by calling the Customer Information Center at (256) 535-1255

HOW DO I PERFORM A WEB/PHONE DRAFT?
(You will need your account number and pin number)

Once enrollment is complete, just log on to your account through My Utilities and you will see the current amount due with the option to pay by bank draft. Once you click on the “pay by bank draft” button, your name, Huntsville Utilities account number and payment amount requested is sent to us to process your bank draft. In order to avoid the penalty charge, your request must be transmitted 2 business days prior to the "Pay Gross After" date on your bill.

Via the Automated Telephone: 532-8222
Once enrollment is complete, call 532-8222 to reach the Automated Phone System. You will need your Huntsville Utilities account number and assigned pin number. Listen for the prompt to pay by “bank draft” and follow instructions.

PAY BY MAIL

When paying by mail, never use cash, always use a check or money order. Write the customer account number on payment and include bill stub. The mailing address for mailing payments is:

This address contains a unique zip code, specific to Huntsville Utilities, making a street address unnecessary. Pre-addressed return envelopes are available upon request. A customer can request envelopes by calling 535-1255 or by picking them up at the Jordan Road or Spragins Street offices.

Payments at these boxes should not be made in cash. Customers subject to disconnect cannot use these boxes to avoid being cut off. Daily pickup times are posted at each box.

CREDIT CARD

Payments may be made with a credit card through Speedpay’s automated payment system either by telephone or online through our web page at My Utilities. The toll-free number is 1-877-429-4131. Speedpay charges the customer a convenience fee and accepts MasterCard, Visa and Discover.

CONVENIENCE PAY BY WESTERN UNION

Payments may be made at Western Union locations participating in Convenience Pay (list of participating locations and hours). Simply take your Huntsville Utilities bill or provide your account number to the participating Western Union Agent. A $1.00 cash convenience fee will be charged for this service. If you are subject to cut-off, please do not use this service. Payments will not post to your Huntsville Utilities account until the following business day.

Pay your bill in person by visiting a payment center at one of the following locations:

A service fee will be charged for any type remittance returned from any financial institution.
